Description

A classic comfort dish that combines ground beef, pasta, and vegetables in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef until no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic for about 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Mix in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the elbow macaroni and stir to combine.
  5. Simmer covered on low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve warm, topping with grated cheese if desired.

Notes

For extra nutrition, consider adding more vegetables or using lean ground turkey instead of beef.
