- 1 cup sugar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the blackberries and 1/2 cup of sugar in a mixing bowl.
- Mix together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla to the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Spoon the blackberry mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
