- 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or pork)
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat some olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the ground meat and cook until browned.
- Add the chopped cabbage and sauté until slightly softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Mix in the uncooked rice, diced tomatoes, and broth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and spread it evenly.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until browned on top.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, top with cheese or serve with a side salad.
