- 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or sausage)
- 1 cup rice
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 2 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil over medium heat until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Brown the ground meat in the skillet, seasoning with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the rice and canned tomatoes, then pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Prepare a large baking dish by layering the chopped cabbage at the bottom.
- Combine the meat mixture evenly over the cabbage and cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden.
- Serve warm, optionally garnished with parsley or green onions.
