- 1/2 cup boiling water

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the wet ingredients: vegetable oil, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and egg in a separate bowl.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Add the boiling water and stir until the batter is smooth.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool the cupcakes in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Fill the centers with chocolate ganache and frost the tops with chocolate frosting.
