Description
This Honey Bourbon Cranberry Sauce balances tart cranberries with sweet honey and a warm depth of bourbon extract ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients
12 oz fresh cranberries
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1 tsp orange zest
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp bourbon extract
1/4 cup water
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Rinse and sort cranberries, discarding soft ones.
2. Zest and juice one fresh orange.
3. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, honey, orange juice, zest, cinnamon, water, and salt.
4. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat.
5. Reduce to simmer for 10–12 minutes until berries burst and sauce thickens.
6. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon extract.
7. Cool 10–15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Make ahead: Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Freeze for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
Add more honey if you prefer extra sweetness.
