Description
Crème Brûlée French Toast combines rich custard and caramelized sugar for an indulgent breakfast experience everyone will love.
Ingredients
1 loaf brioche or challah bread
6 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
Fresh berries for garnish
Instructions
1. Melt butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup; pour into baking dish.
2. Arrange bread slices over caramel.
3. Whisk eggs, cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
4. Pour custard mixture over bread.
5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden.
8. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, sprinkle a little sugar on top and broil for 1–2 minutes.
Stale bread works best for soaking up the custard.
