Instructions
- Peel and grate the potatoes. Use a box grater or food processor for even grating.
- Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Cook the grated potatoes in the skillet in an even layer, pressing lightly.
- Fry until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
- Flip the hash browns gently and cook the other side for another 5–7 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper, serve hot with a dipping sauce.
Notes
For best results, choose starchy potatoes like Russets and dry them thoroughly before cooking.
