Description

Deliciously crispy hash browns made from fresh potatoes, perfect for breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Use a box grater or food processor for even grating.
  2. Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch.
  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Cook the grated potatoes in the skillet in an even layer, pressing lightly.
  5. Fry until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  6. Flip the hash browns gently and cook the other side for another 5–7 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, serve hot with a dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, choose starchy potatoes like Russets and dry them thoroughly before cooking.
