- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- To taste salt
- To taste black pepper
- ½ cup diced onions (optional)
- ½ cup chopped green bell peppers (optional)
- A pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Start by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, toss in the diced onions and chopped green bell peppers. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
- Next, add 1 cup of long-grain white rice to the pan and stir for about 2 minutes.
- After toasting the rice, pour in 2 cups of broth and add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, ½ teaspoon of paprika, and ½ teaspoon of dried parsley. Adjust salt and black pepper to taste.
- Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then reduce heat to low and cover to simmer for about 18 to 20 minutes.
- After cooking, remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Finally, use a fork to fluff the rice before serving.
