Description
A delightful dessert with layers of banana, caramel, and whipped cream on a biscuit base, perfect for any gathering or comforting treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups digestive biscuits, crushed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix the crushed digestive biscuits with melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a pie dish and bake for about 10 minutes until slightly golden. Allow it to cool completely.
- Make the Caramel Layer: Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly for about 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes caramel-colored. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Layer the Bananas: Once the crust has cooled and the caramel is set, spread the caramel over the crust and layer the sliced bananas on top.
- Whip the Cream: Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar while whipping, then spread the whipped cream over the bananas.
- Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder on top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Use fresh bananas for the best texture. Chill the pie for enhanced flavor.
