Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package cream cheese, softened 8 oz
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices bread (white or brioche)
- 4 large strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and another slice of bread to form sandwiches.
- In one shallow dish, mix flour, cinnamon, and salt. In another, combine eggs and milk.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry sandwiches 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
Notes
Use brioche for a richer flavor. Strawberries can be swapped with blueberries or bananas. For a dairy-free version, try vegan cream cheese and plant-based milk.
