Description

This Gingerbread Hot Chocolate combines rich cocoa with warm spices and molasses for the ultimate cozy holiday drink.


Ingredients

2 cups milk (or dairy-free alternative)

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp molasses

1/4 tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/8 tsp nutmeg

Pinch of salt

Whipped cream and gingerbread cookie crumbs for topping


Instructions

1. In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder, sugar, and spices.

2. Heat milk and molasses in a saucepan over medium heat.

3. Whisk in the cocoa mixture until smooth and hot.

4. Remove from heat and let rest 1 minute.

5. Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream and crushed cookies.

Notes

You can make it vegan with oat or almond milk.

Add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy twist.
