Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and place your cast-iron skillet inside.
  2. Mix the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Prepare the wet ingredients by whisking together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs in a separate bowl.
  4. Combine the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently.
  5. Transfer the cornbread batter into the hot skillet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the skillet for a few minutes before serving.
