- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix the shortening, creamy peanut butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the egg and mix until incorporated.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Prepare a cookie sheet by dropping dough balls about 1 to 1½ inches wide.
- Shape each cookie with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes, keeping them soft in the center.
- Cool the cookies on the sheet for about 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
