  • 1/2 cup beef broth (homemade if possible)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
  • 1 tsp black pepper (for seasoning)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the steak by thinly slicing 1 pound of flank or sirloin steak. Freeze it for 30 minutes for easier cutting.
  2. Slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the steak in a single layer for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  5. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, stirring into the steak and cooking for another 3 minutes.
  6. Make the sauce by mixing 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup beef broth, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in a bowl.
  7. Combine everything by pouring the sauce over the meat and vegetables, stirring together and cooking until the sauce thickens (approximately 2-3 minutes).
