Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix the dry ingredients in another bowl and whisk together.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, alternating flour and milk.
- Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
- Cool the cupcakes for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Make the buttercream frosting by beating butter and gradually adding powdered sugar.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the buttercream using a piping bag or spatula.
