- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 0.25 cup vegetable oil
- 0.75 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3–4 bananas)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan with grease or cooking spray and line with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the wet ingredients: whisk melted butter with vegetable oil and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
- Fold in the mashed bananas.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking for doneness at around 50 minutes.
- Cool the bread in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding nuts or using a mixture of cinnamon and sugar before baking.
