These Twisted Christmas Cookies are buttery, colorful, and festive perfect for the holiday season or family baking fun!
Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
¾ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
Red and green gel food coloring
Instructions
1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl; combine with wet mix.
4. Divide dough into three portions; tint one red, one green.
5. Roll each into ropes, twist together, and shape.
6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes.
7. Cool, decorate, and enjoy!
Notes
You can freeze dough for up to 3 months.
Try adding lemon zest or cocoa powder for variations.
