Description

A soft and moist banana bread recipe that’s perfect for using up overripe bananas and customizable with your favorite add-ins.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 medium bananas
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk in the eggs, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract into the mashed bananas.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix gently.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the bread in the pan, then on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor and avoid overmixing the batter.
