- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl, then set aside.
- Cream the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until creamy and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture gradually, and beat until well combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and nuts, folding them gently with a spatula.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are light golden brown.
- Cool the cookies on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Serve on a festive platter and consider decorating with icing or sprinkles. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
