Description
A comforting dish combining creamy Alfredo sauce, tender chicken, and fettuccine noodles, perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once boiling, add the fettuccine pasta. Cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Let the chicken rest, then slice it.
- Make the Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, sauté 2 cloves of minced garlic for about 1 minute. Add 1 cup of heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cheese: Reduce heat to low and stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the pasta and sauce: Toss the cooked fettuccine in the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve with chicken: Plate the pasta, top with sliced chicken, and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, consider substituting half-and-half for heavy cream. Additionally, feel free to experiment with additional seasonings or vegetables.
