Description

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 4×8 inch loaf pan by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth with some small chunks.
  4. Mix in the melted butter until combined.
  5. Add the baking soda and a pinch of salt to the mixture.
  6. Incorporate the sugar and beaten egg, stirring gently.
  7. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix well.
  8. Combine the all-purpose flour and fold it into the batter until just mixed.
  9. Include chopped walnuts if desired.
  10. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  11. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  13. Slice and enjoy plain or with butter or cream cheese.

Notes

Store banana bread tightly wrapped at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
