Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then add oil, water, sugar, and vanilla; stir until smooth.
  5. Add eggs and whisk until uniform.
  6. Fold dry mixture into wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Add chocolate chips and nuts, if using, and fold gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
