- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter or canola oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
- Prepare your dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Create a well in the center of the mix.
- Add your wet ingredients: Pour in the cold milk, melted butter or canola oil, vanilla extract, and the beaten eggs.
- Check the consistency of the batter, adding more milk if necessary.
- Preheat your waffle maker.
- Grease the waffle maker with melted butter.
- Cook the waffles by pouring about 1/2 cup of batter into the center of the waffle maker and heating according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Repeat the cooking process with the remaining batter.
- Serve warm with your choice of toppings.

Don’t overmix the batter and use room temperature ingredients for best results.
