Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Prepare your dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Create a well in the center of the mix.
  3. Add your wet ingredients: Pour in the cold milk, melted butter or canola oil, vanilla extract, and the beaten eggs.
  4. Check the consistency of the batter, adding more milk if necessary.
  5. Preheat your waffle maker.
  6. Grease the waffle maker with melted butter.
  7. Cook the waffles by pouring about 1/2 cup of batter into the center of the waffle maker and heating according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  8. Repeat the cooking process with the remaining batter.
  9. Serve warm with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter and use room temperature ingredients for best results.
